Children and parents benefit enormously when school and parents work as partners in education. Consequently we welcome parental involvement. In fact, we consider that the academic, social and physical well being of each student depends largely upon clear and effective communication between school and home.
There are several publications which attempt to keep you well informed of any school activities:
Student Diary - this communication book is used in all classes as a form of communication and homework log that should be checked and signed by parents each school day. This also includes a reading log of daily at-home reading.
Weekly Update - each class teacher will send parents an update by e-mail every week.
JIMS Newsletter - comes out at the end of Semester One
Report Day - at the end of each term there will be a parent-teacher interview.
Student Led Conference - these coincide with the report days and students will lead their parents through the material they covered during the term.
Parent Update - are distributed weekly by the Principal
