International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) Curriculum

The JIMS curriculum offers broadly based courses that introduce students to some subjects that are a continuation from their Year 6 studies, whereas others will be new and challenging.

Years 7&8 are considered bridging years between the ‘generalist approach’ from the Primary School and the ‘examination oriented’ Years 9&10 where students are prepared for a demanding international external examination, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). All subjects are based on the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum (Years 9&10), but are modified to accommodate the younger students (Years 7&8).

The IGCSE is taken in over 100 countries worldwide and is internationally recognised. The Certificate is widely used as a preparation for A Levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma and US Advanced Placement courses.

Students will study: 5 subjects for their IGCSE Certificate, and 5 subjects for their JIMS Certificate.
